Senate Bill 40 – DEPORT Task Force

I believe Michigan has a solemn duty to protect public safety and uphold the rule of law.

That’s why I introduced Senate Bill 40, which would create the Developing Effective Policies on Orderly Removal and Transportation (DEPORT) Task Force.

This task force would bring together state legislators, law enforcement, trafficking experts and local officials to recommend policy reforms and coordinate with federal agencies to remove dangerous criminal undocumented immigrants. My goal is to make Michigan a leader in supporting federal removal efforts while safeguarding communities.

This legislation would not cost the people of Michigan a single extra tax dollar, but the value it could add to the safety of our communities is immeasurable.
